About Bella

Bella is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix. 55 pounds. Birthday 7/31/2018 (almost 8). She is very spry. She still does zoomies, plays with toys, and loves sniffing around. She is house-trained. She likes to be close to her people once she's comfortable. She enjoys being pet and chilling on the couch, but also likes her space. She can be sensitive about how she's touched, so children are not a fit as she can nip if she's uncomfortable. A home with adults and/or older teens who can respect her space would be ideal. She'd really thrive in a place where she can lay in the sun and roam around. She comes when called, and likes to play brief stints of tug/fetch and run around outside. She wants to chase squirrels, cats, crows, etc. She is very reactive on leash and nervous around new people. We introduced her to some other people and with calm introductions she was fine. Not sure how she does around dogs off leash, but on leash she is very reactive. She is very alert and will bark at loud noises, so a more rural or quiet neighborhood would be ideal for her. She has so many sweet qualities, and just needs the right home.
