About Chloe

Chloe is a 13 year old Chihuahua that has been with my mom for about 12 years. My mom loved and adored her, they had a great life together. Unfortunately, recently my mother suffered a severe fall that caused irreversible mental and physical injury and I have had to place her in a group home permanently. My husband and I have the dog for now but we cannot keep her since we are hardly ever home which is not good for Chloe as she is used to having someone around most of the time. Chloe is spayed and up-to-date on rabies shot (next one is due 2027). She is paper trained since she is used to doing living in an apartment. She is trustworthy in the house, doesn't get into anything, does well on a leash (loves to go for walks!). Very chill personality, but skittish around strangers. I can take her anywhere and she does okay as long as I'm there but she knows me. I've taken her to the groomers, the store and even church without a problem. Chloe needs a quiet calm environment with someone who is home a lot, perhaps a person who works from home or is retired. Or, she would be the perfect companion for someone who travels since she loves car rides, and is well behaved in the car or hotels as long as she has her 'person' with her. She gets along with other dogs and cats but would be better off being the only dog. She wouldn't do well with young children as that kind of chaotic noisy environment would be too much for her to handle since she has been with an elderly person for 12 years. Chloe is in good health, she does have a chronic kind of cough when she gets excited, but we were told by the vet that is common for the breed and she doesn't have any heart or lung issues. She can be a picky eater but we have found a brand of dog food 'Nulo Freestyle' that she loves. At 8 lbs, she is at good weight for her size. Chloe has a sweet loving personality, loves hugs and cuddles once she gets to know you. She is definitely a 'Velcro dog'. My hope is for her to have a loving home where she can get plenty of love and attention.
