T.J. is a 13 year old Shiba Inu who recently lost the only home he's ever known after his elderly owners moved into assisted living. Their family lives across the country and sadly couldn't take him in, so now this sweet senior is looking for a soft place to land for the rest of his days. T.J. isn't in perfect shape, but he still has life to live and love to give. He's a very sweet, easygoing boy who enjoys comfort, kindness, and taking things at his own pace. He does have arthritis, and we're helping him lose a little weight to make things easier on his joints. His vision is very limited and his hearing isn't what it used to be either, but he still enjoys being close to his people and soaking up affection. T.J. is okay with other dogs and mostly seems indifferent to them, but because he struggles so much with his vision, a home with hyper or overly playful dogs probably wouldn't be the best fit for him. He would do best in a calm, quiet environment where he can safely and comfortably navigate his surroundings. We truly believe that with love, joint supplements, gentle care, and a comfortable environment, T.J. can continue to enjoy life and be a wonderful companion. A quiet home would be ideal for him, especially one with easy access to an outdoor space since stairs are difficult for him. Senior dogs like T.J. still have so much love left to give. He deserves a peaceful, safe place. ...This is a courtesy post. T.J. is with a rescue in northern NJ. Contact Ann for more information on how to apply to adopt T.J. (646-434-8336)
