About Gaia

Meet Gaia! Gaia is a 2-year-old spayed female German Shepherd looking for her forever home. She was picked up as a stray and, sadly, was never reclaimed. Like so many dogs that end up in the shelter system this way, she also tested heartworm positive. The good news is that Gaia has already started treatment! She has completed her initial antibiotics and is now on monthly preventative. To help ensure her treatment is fully completed, she will go home with a 12-month supply of Advantage Multi provided by the rescue. Gaia is a sweet, loving girl who truly wants to be with her people and be part of a family. She tested well with cats and has done fine with other dogs here; however, she is definitely a bossy, opinionated Shepherd! Because of this, she would do best with a German Shepherd-savvy adopter or possibly as the only dog in the home. While she has done well in foster care, her strong personality may be a bit much for some dogs. At the shelter, Gaia quickly became a staff favorite, and she's now enjoying foster care while waiting for the right forever family to find her.
