Sharing in case anyone may know the right person for him'| We are sadly looking to rehome our dog, Shepard. Shepard is about 9-10 years old, around 35lbs, and we adopted him from Cocker Spaniel Rescue around 8 years ago. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family, and we are absolutely heartbroken. As Shepard has gotten older, he has become more sensitive and has shown aggression in certain situations - mainly if startled while sleeping, after chasing deer, or when being made to do something he doesn't want to do (like going to bed). Because we have young children in the home, we can no longer safely take that risk. We believe he would do best in a calm home without children. Aside from those situations, Shepard is a happy, playful, loving dog. He enjoys snuggles, laying his head in your lap, sleeping in bed with you, and playing fetch. He is also kennel trained, knows basic commands like sit and stay, and does very well off leash, staying close by. He's great with other dogs and ignores our porch cats completely. He's known for giving sweet little 'drive-by kisses' as he walks past you. He is neutered, healthy, and up to date on physicals, heartworm prevention, and immunizations. I can also provide all vet records. 99% of the time, Shepard is a wonderful dog. Unfortunately, with children, we cannot trust the 1%. Please message me if you think you may know someone who could give him the right home.
