Oreo is running out of time - and she needs us now Meet Oreo (A258705) - a beautiful 4-year-old Queensland Heeler who is on a deadline to leave the shelter by Wednesday, May 13th. Time is running short for this sweet girl, and she deserves so much more than the stress and heartbreak of kennel life. Oreo isn't meant for shelter life. She's a house dog - the kind of girl who knows how to be part of a family. She's housebroken, non-destructive when left alone, walks nicely on leash, has lived with children, and previously shared her home with 3 male dogs of varying sizes. She can be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she blossoms into a loving, loyal companion. But kennel life is breaking her spirit. The constant noise and stress have left Oreo pacing, vocalizing, and desperately jumping at her kennel door - not because she's 'too much,' but because she's overwhelmed and longing for the comfort of a real home again. She's friendly with people, full of that smart, spunky heeler energy, and truly one of the prettiest girls in the shelter. Oreo just needs the right fit - a home without other female dogs, and slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident pets. She had a home once. She deserves one again - and she needs someone to choose her before May 13th.
