TOTAL EMERGENCY IN LAKE COUNTY, CA (N CAL, NORTH OF WINE COUNTRY) - 5 VERY YOUNG CHOWS TO BE CONFISCATED BY ANIMAL CONTROL AND EUTHANIZED BY RURAL SHELTER IF WE DO NOT FIND PLACEMENT IMMEDIATELY. AC SAID TO BE COMING 5/9 TO TAKE FROM PROPERTY WITH TOO MANY DOGS- AND SAID THEY WOULD BE EUTHANIZED. THESE ARE THREE- 1.5 YR CHOWS AND TWO - 6 MONTH OLD PUPPIES! WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF HOMES OR FOSTERS AND RESCUES FOR EACH AND ALL ( THEY CAN GO TO DIFFERENT HOMES, FOSTERS AND RESCUES) We were contacted about this urgent situation after the owner reached out for help and was given until 5/9 to place at least 5 of her chows , some who are already fixed and most are vaccinated. She was told the rural shelter would euthanize them. We are therefore trying to prevent this tragic outcome, but these dogs need a place to go, even if you can only take one. Some transport may be available but to the Bay area only. We cannot send dogs further away to private parties unless you already have a willing rescue involved and transport. However, if you are not too far from a rescue we work with, we can try to pair you with a willing rescue to help. This is a brief list of the chows and their description: Aiko: black male born 11/9/24: neutered, utd on shots, sweet, gets along with other dogs, but not his brother, no health issues. Gets along with sister, Kuromi. Needs home, or foster and rescue Biscuit: cream male born 11/9/24: utd on shots, most shy of the group, but is very sweet once he warms up and trusts. No health issues. He's the one who was most picked on by the other dogs. He has not been neutered yet, but needs to be- needs home, or foster and rescue Kuromi: black female born 11/9/24: very sweet and playful, spayed, utd on shots, gets along with Aiko her brother- needs home, or foster and rescue Bageera - 6 month old black male puppy, they are not neutered yet, but are up to date on shots- we have an interested rescue, but looking for a N Cal foster or foster to adopt Soldier- 6 month old black male puppy, they are not neutered yet, but are up to date on shots- we have an interested rescue, but looking for a N Cal foster or foster to adopt We are told none of the dogs have known medical or behavior issues. The ones not fixed will be need to be neutered soon, and a rescue group would assist with this. If you can help to foster any, are interested to adopt, or able to offer a donation towards their medical or other needs, or help with transport, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network asap.
