Foster or Adopter Needed by 6/3/26 Napoleon needs a committed foster or adopter to secure his ride from Fort Bend Animal Services in Texas to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on 6/3/26 in partnership with Dog Is My CoPilot. Without a home commitment, he cannot make transport. Meet Napoleon Napoleon is a handsome 1-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix with a heart of gold and a playful, loving personality. This sweet boy is happiest when he is near his people, soaking up attention and affection whenever he can. Currently staying in a short-term foster home, Napoleon has already shown what a wonderful companion he can be. He is potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, and likes to stay close to the person walking him. He also knows how to sit and give paw on command and is described as very curious, eager to learn, and people-oriented. Napoleon has a medium energy level and enjoys both playtime and relaxing with his people. While he can get excited and sometimes jump up to greet people, his foster believes he is smart and will learn quickly with consistency and training. He has been around both cats and dogs in his foster home. Napoleon likes to chase them in an attempt to play and investigate, not to harm them, but his foster's older dogs and cats are not interested in his playful energy. He would likely do best with playful, tolerant dogs or a family ready to continue helping him learn boundaries around smaller pets. When Napoleon gets attention and pets, he settles down beautifully and simply enjoys being loved. He is a friendly, affectionate young dog who is ready for a forever home of his own. Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $125 once we receive proof of the procedure.
