Foster or Adopter Needed by 6/3/26 Chumba needs a committed foster or adopter to secure his ride from Fort Bend Animal Services in Texas to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on 6/3/26 in partnership with Dog Is My CoPilot. Without a home commitment, he cannot make transport. Meet Chumba Chumba is a sweet, happy-go-lucky 2-year-old German Shepherd mix who came into the shelter with his brother, Wumba. He is a friendly, affectionate boy who is very people-oriented and clearly excited about the world around him. Chumba loves attention and enjoys getting out to walk, sniff, and explore. He is easy to handle on a leash and very well-mannered when being led, making him a pleasant walking companion. He does show his enthusiasm by jumping up when he gets excited, so he will benefit from continued basic manners training to help channel his happy energy. He takes treats gently and is very responsive to people, even though he does not appear to know any formal commands yet and is ready to learn. Chumba is currently in foster care through the Canine Leadership Program, where youth work with the dogs on basic training and socialization. He is doing very well in this environment and is great with other dogs as well as the children involved in the program. We have not yet seen Chumba around cats. His potty-training status is unknown, but he is easy to handle, good on a leash, and overall a very sweet and cooperative dog.
