This ruggedly handsome boy is Rud and he's looking for a family with some property ... maybe a few sheep or goats ... or maybe just a really, really big yard to patrol. I picked up Rud to foster yesterday and he has been a nice, well-behaved boy. He is not, however, very interested in being an office dog. He tells me he's more suited to the great outdoors than being confined in an office all day. Rud is an Anatolian Shepherd mix and he certainly seems to have the calm, watchful temperament, of a lifestock guardian breed. He also has the desire to be outside doing something, although I think he'd prefer to be inside with his people at night. He did well with other dogs at the shelter and has been friendly with everyone he's met at my house and the office. He's only a year old so he still gets playful and goofy. He's a nice, fun, loveable boy. Rud doesn't seem to need a lot of strenuous exercise, but he is not suited for apartment life or being crated all day. He needs room and the freedom to roam.
