Rehoming a Dog: we are incredibly sad to say that we are looking to rehome our dog Nellie. She is an excellent dog and will make a new owner so happy. If you or someone you know is interested please reach out to us. Nellie is a super energetic, smart, and loving dog who is ready to find the right home that fits her needs. She has a big personality and bonds closely with her people. Nellie thrives in a calm, structured environment where she can get plenty of attention, exercise, and consistency. She's also incredibly affectionate-once she trusts you, she loves to cuddle and be close. She's the perfect mix of playful and snuggly, and her companionship is deeply rewarding for the right person. Nellie will turn 4 in October. She has had extensive training including a 5 week board and train program. She is used to an ecollar for recall and correction. The Ideal Home for Nellie: 'ۢ No children - Nellie does best in an adult-only home where her environment stays predictable and low-stress. 'ۢ Someone home often - She thrives with people who are home much of the day and able to give her plenty of interaction and supervision. 'ۢ Large yard preferred - She loves playing outside, especially fetch, and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and play. 'ۢ No dog parks - Nellie has a history of dog reactivity and has previously bitten in high-stress, overstimulating environments. She does not get along with all dogs and should not be placed in off-leash or unpredictable social situations like dog parks. That said, she can do well with select dogs she knows and trusts-slow introductions and proper supervision are key. 'ۢ Professional training- When needed, training should be done through Naughty Dog in Hobart, where the staff is experienced in handling her needs and familiar with her temperament. Personality and Behavior: Nellie is playful, intelligent, and loves staying engaged-whether through fetch, puzzle toys, or training games. Her recall is excellent, and she learns quickly with positive reinforcement. She also has a soft side and loves curling up on the couch with her favorite people for cuddle time. She's best suited for someone who can maintain consistent routines and set clear boundaries. When she's overly tired or frustrated, she can become nippy-so understanding her cues and ensuring she gets rest and downtime is important. Her new owner should be confident, experienced, and comfortable managing a dog with big feelings and lots of energy. Summary: Nellie is a deeply loyal, high-energy dog who just wants to be loved, understood, and given the right environment to thrive. With an experienced adult and the structure she needs, she will give back endless affection, fun, and connection. She isn't the right fit for every home-but for the right person, she'll be a once-in-a-lifetime dog. Please note: Nellie can be nippy/snappy/jumpy when she's tired or frustrated, so her new home should be with someone who understands dog behavior and can provide the structure, patience, and calm she needs. If you think Nellie might be a match for your home and heart, please reach out to learn more.
