Meet Duke - a 2-year-old, neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix weighing about 55 lbs. Duke is a healthy, high-energy boy who is fully house-trained and loves being active. He would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and attention-ideally with a fenced yard where he can run and play. Duke bonds closely with his people and has done well with a child he's been raised around. However, due to his energetic and sometimes overly enthusiastic nature (he can jump when excited), he would do best in a home without young children or with experienced supervision. He would likely be happiest as the only pet, as he does not do well with male dogs and can be selective with others. He currently lives with a female dog and does well with her, but slow introductions would be important in any new setting. This is a very difficult decision, but due to apartment living and Duke's energy level and reactivity, I'm unable to give him the space and exercise he truly needs to thrive. Duke has so much love to give and would make an incredible companion in the right home-especially with someone who understands the needs of an active, intelligent breed.
