X URGENT -FAIRFIELD, CA (N CAL)- Solano County Animal Care ID #A310390 'PRINCESS' - a BEAUTIFUL YOUNG, 35 LB FEMALE CHOW WHO IS SHY AT FIRST, BUT SWEET, DOG FRIENDLY, MADE 'RESCUE ONLY' AT THIS TIME, IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, we will do our best to connect you with a rescue who might be able to help SHELTER ASKING FOR HELP, MAY BE EUTHANIZED IF NO FOSTER/RESCUE STEPS UP. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS- CAN ANYONE HELP? We are in urgent need of finding a foster or foster to adopt, for this beautiful but very neglected girl who ended up at the county kill shelter as an stray with a coat in dire need of grooming. We have named her Princess, and she is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs only 35 lbs so she is rather petite. She was found in dire need of grooming. Despite what she must have gone through, the shelter notes state 4/23 , 'on intake this dog was super sweet and affectionate- alert and bright. Per kennel staff this dog has been happy and friendly since arriving at the shelter'. However, on 4/26,she was also noted as not feeling well that day and not wanting to get up , No lameness was later found, but she did later develop an upper respiratory infection and on meds for this. She has been on medical watch since then. On 4/30. Ot was noted 'She is nervous with leashing and will back away but walks well on leash during. Able to pet with no issues. Introduced to another dog and remained aloof'. On 5/4, she did not want to eat though, and it is unclear if she is depressed, but she needs out of this shelter asap. We have nice video to show her interacting with another dog, as well as a copy of the medical notes if needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxt-jPyWQSI Due to her condition, though, the shelter has yet to make her adoptable, and she remains in Rescue only status, meaning only a rescue group can save her. She may later be cleared for adoption after she is feeling better, but she may also run out of time in a full shelter. Rescue groups need fosters, or someone interested to foster to adopt. She cannot be adopted directly from the shelter at this time. although we are happy to try to request this for you if possible. Princess has now been at this high intake shelter for several weeks and may be placed on a deadline soon in a full shelter, or at risk for euthanized. Therefore, if you are a responsible home or can foster or foster to adopt, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, and can try to pair fosters or interested parties with a willing rescue group. Ideally, we need a foster near the shelter or in N Cal. The shelter may also be contacted at [email protected] & [email protected] We will post additional pictures, videos and updates for this dear deserving girl on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/debbie.alder.14/posts/pfbid02UZcd1AEYECMvqfqMxwRb8xY1fxM3g61PeGAtxNc54eBPhUWMzaz7UrSh78Lc7xdql Note: to view contents of links you will need to copy and paste each one separately into your browser.
