About Tofu

I'm looking for a very special home for my dog. This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family, but we want to do what's best for him. He's an Australian Cattle Dog who came from a neglectful situation during the first two years of his life, which meant he missed out on early socialization. Because of that, he can be unsure around new people. However, once he trusts you, he is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his person. This puppy loves to give kisses, cuddles and belly rubs! Since welcoming a new baby into our home, we've seen a significant increase in his anxiety. He's not comfortable with the unpredictability that comes with a young child, and we're no longer able to provide the calm, consistent environment he needs to feel secure and thrive. This decision comes from wanting a better, less stressful life for him. He is:��%BD'�ו�%BD'� Extremely loving and cuddly with his people��%BD'�ו�%BD'� Very intelligent and responsive to commands (he actually does great off-leash)��%BD'�ו�%BD'� A wonderful adventure companion-he loves hiking, but is also happy relaxing on the couch He does struggle with anxiety around new people, which can come out as reactive behavior. He has a bite history with people (we have had about 4 incidens in five years), so he will need an experienced, patient owner who understands boundaries and is committed to slow, structured introductions. With the right management, we've been able to prevent issues. He would do best in:��%BD'�ו�%BD'� A calm, adult-only home (no young children)��%BD'�ו�%BD'� A home with minimal visitors or someone experienced with reactive/anxious dogs��%BD'�ו�%BD'� An owner who understands heelers and is willing to continue working with him He has so much love to give and truly thrives when he feels safe and understood.
