Elvis is the sole survivor of five cockatiels my wife had. She passed away 2.5 years ago and I've been caring for Elvis ever since. He is a good bird, and in very good health. At 18 I suspect he has a touch of arthritis because he has made squawking sounds when lifting his left wing or if he gets up on my finger. That comes and goes which leads me to believe it's arthritis. His annual checkup isn't due until August and I see no need to take him in before then unless he gets worse. Why and I putting him up for adoption? At 75 years old my life is about to change and I will be unable to continue to have him as a pet. I want to place him in a loving home who will continue to care and love him as I have for all these years.
