About Maggie

Maggie (Magpie) is a tri color shepherd or border collie. She's on the larger side and weighs 60 Ibs. She's current on her shots, spayed, chipped and had the Bravecto flea and tick shot that lasts a year. She is house, crate and leash trained. After learning her perimeter, she does not need a fence or to be leashed. She is slow to warm up to you but once she does, she's a loyal and loving companion. She will hike with you and curl up like a cat next to you. She will try to kick you out of bed. For a larger dog, she does not require a lot of maintenance. She does have longer hair that requires brushing once a week. Amazingly, her silky hair doesn't shed much. She likes her chew toys but has never chewed anything in the house and she has free range inside. We've had her for six months. She was a rescue from a hoarder breeder. She's had two litters of pups and is 2.5 yrs old. Since she was tied to her doghouse for a lengthy time, she has some issues. She doesn't like loud noises or sudden movements. She prefers women and children. She loves my teen boy and my grandson. She has warmed up to my husband but it's been slow. She prefers a quiet active life either her family. She gets anxious around strangers or social gatherings. She's been around our cat and hasn't minded her. If the cat is outside and feeling frisky and decides to run, Maggie will chase her. She's never hurt her. Maggie is a chaser. If it runs, she chases squirrels, random deer, groundhogs and more. She lives to chase four wheelers and motorcycles. She's a great hiking companion. She doesn't mind the ther dogs or people but she loves refers them to stay at a distance. She's not aggressive towards them. She assumes a heel position. All around large lap cat who prefers a quieter lifestyle.
