About Milo

Hi��%BD'��%BD| I'm Milo. I don't remember a gentle beginning��%BD'��%BD| or what it feels like to belong with someone. What I remember is the street- being so hungry it hurt, so scared I couldn't sleep, and the silence of being completely alone. Mostly��%BD'��%BD| I remember the pain. When Anna from Houston K-911 Rescue found me, my back right paw was badly broken and shredded. I wasn't brave anymore��%BD'��%BD| I was crying. For days, I cried-because it was the only thing I had left. I didn't understand why I hurt so much��%BD'��%BD| or why no one came before her. Then everything changed. After many vet visits, the doctors did the only thing they could to save me. When I woke up, most of my toes were gone. Part of me��%BD'��%BD| gone forever. I was scared. Confused. In pain. And for a while, I didn't know if things would ever feel okay again. But now��%BD'��%BD| they do. I'm learning how to trust. How to feel safe. How to be a dog again. And��%BD'��%BD| I can run. You should see my zoomies. I didn't know if I ever would-but I can. And when I do, I'm not the dog who was broken. I'm just��%BD'��%BD| Milo. A really good boy. I'm gentle, housebroken, and I love other dogs. I sleep through the night, I love toys (I even have my own now), and I've learned that hands can be kind��%BD'��%BD| that love can stay. I'll greet you like you're the best thing in the world- because to me��%BD'��%BD| you are. My foster family says I'd be perfect for a home with kids-or anyone who wants a gentle, loyal heart by their side. Someone who's home often and a place with a yard because I love being outside hunting dragons (lizards). Someone who won't mind that I follow them from room to room��%BD'��%BD| just to make sure they're still there. Because the only thing I'm still afraid of��%BD'��%BD| is being alone again. I've been through things I didn't understand. I've lost pieces of myself��%BD'��%BD| ��%BD'��%BD|but I never lost my heart. I am heartworm positive-but the kind people at Houston K-911 Rescue are covering all of my treatment, so I can keep getting better and focus on finding my forever family. All I need now��%BD'��%BD| is someone who will hold it gently- and promise me��%BD'��%BD| that this time��%BD'��%BD| I'm finally home. ��%BD%9D%A4
