About Lucy

Meet Lucy, a gentle and sweet girl who is looking for her forever home. Lucy is about 4-5 years old. She requires a forever home who can be patient with her. Lucy lived a portion of her life not knowing love or human touch. She and her son, Jasper, were kept alive by kind neighbors who tossed them food. Now, Lucy is learning what it means to be loved and cared for! She enjoys watching the world out the window, going for walks (she walks well on leash), and being pet all over and brushed. When she sees someone she knows well, she greets them by squinting her eyes and smiling. If Lucy thinks her son, Jasper, is getting too much attention, she will insert herself so she gets all the pets. It is heartwarming to see a dog who was petrified of people enjoying being pet and loved on by those she has gotten to know! Lucy is good with other dogs and cats. Lucy is warming up to people, though she is not your stereotypical golden who will go up to anyone and everyone. She needs a home that is quiet and patient. Jasper gets a lot of confidence from Lucy, so a home with Jasper is preferable but not required. They have been in the rescue as they spent time decompressing and starting to learn to trust and love.
