About Luna

Luna is a fantastic family dog. We rescued her from a situation where the owner was a disabled veteran and Luna was his therapy dog. Unfortunately due to increasing dimentia and being a bilateral amputee the veteran could no longer care for her so we took her in at the request of the veteran. Unfortunately she and the veteran had been abused at their former location and Luna had obviously been neglected and malnourished. Upon taking her in we learned shortly after she was pregnant and she had three puppies. We believe the stress of pregnancy and a new temporary home made her somewhat territorial toward our other dog, but since we have not had her not pregnant and without puppies we are unsure how she would do living with another dog. BUT what we do know is she up to date now on all shots, is spayed, and very healthy. She loves all humans and loves to snuggle on the couch with her people. She is a fantastic on walks and does not pull. She knows all basic commands and is a very smart. We have a two year old who she adores and she is so patient and gentle with all children (even when he is bothering her). She is a good guard dog and lets us know every time someone is at the door. Luna would do great in a fenced in backyard or somewhere would she would be able to play fetch. She is a great family dog, but unfortunately with our other dog and a toddler we always knew this was temporary and we just want to facilitate getting her to a loving family that will take care of her and give her the love she truly deserves. She is now at the point where the puppies are wheened so she is ready to find her forever home. All puppies have forever homes already arranged so please do not inquire about the puppies.
