Adorable Walter needs our help!!! His human was evicted and Walter lost his beloved home, also, ending up at the shelter. He arrived at the shelter on April 17, so considered a longer-term doggie at the shelter, which puts him at risk of being euthanized, when the shelter gets over-capacity, which it often does. Plus, larger dogs, especially active breeds, even though Walter is on the smaller side Shepherd-wise due to being a mix, tolerate being caged up almost 24/7 poorer than other breeds, which puts him at risk, the longer he stays there, of mental distress, which the shelter, also euthanizes for. He is only 3 years old. Is playful with the volunteers, attentive, and likes to run around the shelter yard, during the limited times he is out. He has a leash test with a female dog at the shelter, wagged his tail and ran around energetically, demonstrating play stance. He is already neutered. Walter can also be fostered through a rescue organization, besides adopted. Please, email for further details. He is a really good dog, besides a cutie-pie, don't want to find him 'gone', in a not good way, one day. If want to see other wonderful dogs, besides Walter, at Chicago Animal Care and Control, who are also in very much need of finding a loving home, scroll down and click on, 'Chicago Animal Care and Control', left-hand side.
