About Diesel

Diesel is an adorable Golden Retriever mix puppy with a sleek black coat and an even sweeter personality! At just 3 months old, he is currently 25 lbs and is expected to grow to around 60 lbs. While we know his mom is a full Golden Retriever, Diesel's dad is unknown, which makes him a fun and unique 'mystery mix.' Diesel and his brother Diego are very different in appearance, which makes them extra special. While Diego has a golden coat, Diesel stands out with his beautiful black coloring and gentle, expressive eyes. Diesel is what we like to call a true 'Golden Retriever mix mystery.' His look and build have people guessing he may also have Cocker Spaniel or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in him, and possibly even a touch of Basset Hound in the mix. Diesel and his brother were surrendered when their previous family realized they weren't prepared for how large and active the boys would become, especially in a small apartment. Wanting the best for them, they made the difficult but responsible decision to bring them to our rescue so they can find homes better suited to their needs. Both Diesel and Diego are extremely shy at first and will need a patient, understanding home as they adjust. They would greatly benefit from having another friendly dog in the home to help show them the ropes and build their confidence. After just a couple of days, they begin to warm up and show their sweet, affectionate personalities. Diesel is a gentle, sensitive pup who enjoys quiet affection and slowly building trust with his people. Like any young puppy, he is still learning the ropes and will need continued guidance with potty training and basic manners. He does well with other dogs, cats, and kids. Diesel is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He is not yet neutered but will be undergoing that procedure through the rescue. At this time, we are looking for a committed adopter or a foster-to-adopt home while Diesel completes his remaining vetting. Diesel and his brother do not need to be adopted together and can go to separate homes.
