Meet Brandy %90%BE Brandy is a sensitive, timid soul who is looking for a very specific - and very special - home where she can finally feel safe and understood. Brandy is very fearful of women. While she does tolerate women being around, she is not the same dog with them as she is with men. With men, she relaxes, accepts treats, plays outside, and shows glimpses of the dog she wants to be. With women and children, she becomes quiet, withdrawn, and keeps her distance. She has never shown aggression toward children, but she is clearly uncomfortable and prefers space. She has been in my home for about 1%BD months, and despite patience, structure, and care, she remains very fearful of me and clearly uncomfortable living here. Because of that, I strongly believe Brandy would thrive with a man who has the time, patience, and kindness to build trust at her pace. In the right environment, she has the potential to be an amazing companion. Brandy is: 'ۢ Housebroken 'ۢ Spayed 'ۢ Up to date on all vaccines 'ۢ Food motivated and takes treats 'ۢ Plays outside with a male handler 'ۢ Calm and manageable in the home 'ۢ Scheduled for FREE heartworm treatment through DAC Brandy is heartworm positive, but she has already had her vet appointment, is spayed, fully vaccinated, and her heartworm injections are scheduled at DAC at no cost to the adopter. She does well with my older male cat, but she should not live with kittens or animals that challenge her food, as she did react when my kitten attempted to enter her food bowl. For this reason, she would do best in a home without kittens and with careful feeding boundaries. Brandy is not a 'quick bond' dog - she is a slow, quiet, deeply sensitive girl who needs someone willing to let her learn that the world doesn't have to be scary. She will do best in a calm, predictable home, ideally with a single adult male or a male led household, and someone willing to meet her exactly where she is. If you are patient, gentle, and have the heart to help a fearful dog blossom, Brandy may be the most rewarding companion you'll ever have.
