Pickle Needs a New Foster or Forever Home Pickle is looking for a new foster or forever home through no fault of his own. Before coming to Wisconsin, Pickle was found as a stray and brought into a Georgia shelter. He was eventually adopted and thought he had found his forever home, but sadly, his owner passed away and Pickle found himself back at the shelter, confused and heartbroken. Thanks to Mutt Life Dog Rescue, Pickle was given a second chance and made the journey to Wisconsin. He was adopted by a wonderful family who absolutely loves him, and he has bonded deeply with them. Pickle is a true velcro dog who has formed a strong connection with his people and loves being part of a family. Unfortunately, the resident dog in the home needs to be the only dog, and despite everyone's best efforts, it is no longer safe for Pickle to remain there. The difficult part is that Pickle is dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs, but the situation with the resident dog has made it impossible for him to stay. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for his family because they adore him, but they want to do what is best for Pickle and help him find a home where he can continue to feel safe, loved, and thrive. Pickle is a 3-year-old Red Heeler/Bully mix with a loyal, affectionate personality. He is the perfect example of a dog who just wants to be close to his people. Whether you're relaxing at home, working around the house, or enjoying a quiet evening, Pickle wants to be right by your side. He enjoys snacks, comfy beds, and enthusiastic games of fetch (although bringing the ball back is still optional in his opinion). He is a loving companion who has so much love to give and deserves a home where he can be the center of attention. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
