Mount Vernon, Ohio (willing to drive up to ). 6 Y/O FEMALE, AKC PAPERS, BUT NEVER FILED/REGISTERED GSD (DOB: 8/15/19). Her name is 'Salem'. Background: Has been with Current Shepherd Parents since weaned from a breeder. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids (currently lives with 5 kids, but see notes below). Unknown with dogs (reactive when seeing them). Unknown with cats. House trained (currently having some accidents due to stress/changes). Crate trained (currently having accidents in crate due to Separation Anxiety). Any known medical issues?: None Disclosed. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None disclosed. ENERGY LEVEL: High. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Unknown. Weighs 60 lbs. Currently on Purina Dog Chow food. Good with car rides?: Yes - LOVES them. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: No. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes, with Proper Introduction. Loves: Car rides (her FAVORITE), chew toys, fetch, tug-of-war, cuddling, balls, being close to her person, and bones. Important Behavior Notes: Nervous temperament, especially in busy environments. Separation anxiety present - needs someone home often. Dog reactive when seeing other dogs. Not currently allowed on furniture. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes, good recall. *Good on a Leash?: No. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: No actual bites, but she is very mouthy with playtime and uses her mouth a lot and still puppy nips at times. There have been two incidents where she was very stressed out and nipped harder than usual, but has never broken skin and it's never out of aggression. She was stressed out with high anxiety in both of these incidents, and it was nothing of great concern, but still want to disclose this information. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'She is a wonderful dog and has a lot of love to give. She really wants to be the center of attention and needs someone that can give that to her.' Re Homing because�'�|: There have been some family changes, and Salem is not adjusting well through them, and with 5 kids in the home, the Current Shepherd Parent is overwhelmed and feels Salem is not getting the love and attention she needs and deserves. She feels that the right thing to do for Salem is to find her a home that will be able to give her all the love and attention that she desperately needs. Salem will be a great companion for the right person.
