My nephew brought Axel home almost 3 years ago and kept him in his bedroom with him only allowing out on occasions for bathroom. He used a shock collar on high setting as well as hitting or kicking Axel to correct him. Around 6 months ago my nephew moved out and left Axel with me. He has never bitten anyone but when correcting him he will growl and sometimes show teeth. Axel also goes through separation anxiety when I leave him home. He acts out by peeing on my chair. In the last 6 months I have been able to train Axel to go to the door when needing to use the bathroom and have him sit at door till it is fully opened. Axel knows commands like sit, shake, other paw, pray, speak and whisper. I have had a failed back fusion surgery and unable to give Axel the exercise and training he needs. I would really love to find him a home with tons of space to run or someone young and active. I fully believe Axel would thrive in either of those environments.
