Meet Andre Location: Montgomery, TX DOB: 04/02/2024 Andre is a handsome, gentle soul who is still learning what it means to just be a dog-and it's a really special thing to watch. He has a calm, low-key personality and prefers to spend his time simply being near his people. Whether he's quietly observing from across the room or right in the middle of whatever you're doing, Andre just wants to be part of your world. When he's ready for affection, he has the sweetest way of asking-he'll softly drop his head into your lap and melt into you for love. Andre has a moderate energy level. He enjoys having a backyard to explore but settles nicely and is perfectly content relaxing at home. He's not a high-demand dog-he's more of a quiet companion who thrives in a peaceful environment. One of his adorable quirks is his fascination with hand towels and dish towels. He won't counter surf for food, but if there's a towel within reach, he just might snag it. He's also endlessly curious about everyday things-stairs, garage doors, and the little details of life are all still new and interesting to him. Andre can be a bit sensitive to new or overwhelming situations. Loud music can startle him, and he's still gaining confidence with things like leashes and car rides. He may be hesitant at first, but with patience, encouragement, and a few treats, he settles in and does just fine. Once in the car, he'll lie down and relax. He is housetrained and does well with free roam in the home. His crate is one of his safe spaces, though he has not needed to be confined. He lives peacefully with a female Great Dane and shows no signs of aggression-he's simply more people-focused than dog-focused. He has not shown interest in small dogs or cats during brief exposures. Andre does best with slow introductions to new people. He can be especially wary of men at first, but with time and patience, he warms up and builds trust. In busy or loud environments, he may choose to retreat to a safe space and observe from a distance. He truly bonds deeply with his person and has a bit of a 'velcro dog' personality-once he trusts you, he wants to be near you as much as possible. Andre's ideal home would be a calm, low-traffic environment with a fenced yard and people who understand that he may need time to adjust and build confidence. He would do best with patient adopters who will let him settle in at his own pace and continue guiding him as he discovers the world. He is an incredibly sweet, sensitive boy with so much love to give-he just needs the right home to help him continue to grow.
