American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

I need help! Am at risk of being euthanized when the shelter gets over-capacity, which it often does, tragically, since I am considered a longer-term doggie. If am one of the unlucky ones to be chosen, will then be dumped into a black, plastic garbage bag..., as if I had no worth, few, if any will mourn me. I arrived at the shelter on March 5th. My human, sadly, passed away, and no one could take me in, so ended up here at the shelter. Am a very good girl, only about 2 years old. I recently got lucky and had a doggie day out with some volunteers. That is the picture you see, during my great, special day. I was friendly with everyone I met (no stranger-danger in me), was the best girl while the volunteers had lunch at a restaurant patio, am good at self-entertaining myself with doggie toys, walk very well on leash, and had no problems with the car ride. The best of all, I got to snuggle with them all, but sadly, that does not happen often, since mostly in my kennel all alone, due to so many doggies at the shelter, not enough volunteers. The volunteers think I am sweet and a smart doggie. I met some dogs on leash at the shelter and I greeted them enthusiastically. Please come visit me. Maybe take me home? Come. Human speaking here now, please, please, if have the ability to adopt, even foster Daisy (different process, I can explain), any of the dogs listed at the shelter on here, many more that aren't listed, come out to Chicago Animal Care and Control, contact this page. These dogs aren't 'just' at risk of being euthanized, very real risk, tragic on its own, but spend most of their time in their kennels, which is a tragedy upon a tragedy, to be locked up so much. It shows what great dogs they are, that they are able to still continue to be great, even though caged up for much of the time! Daisy is already spayed, but any dog that is adopted and not yet spayed/neutered, will be by the shelter at no charge, same with microchipping, and core vaccines. If want to see other wonderful doggies, besides Daisy, at Chicago Animal Care and Control, who are also in very much need of finding a loving home, scroll down and click on, 'Chicago Animal Care and Control', left-hand side. Come.
