About Iris

Meet Iris! A dog who was completely shut down, living in darkness, that has bloomed after being rescued. We decided to call her Iris because it's a beautiful flower associated with new beginnings and this girl deserves just that. If you've ever wanted to experience unconditional love in its purest form, look no further than this gorgeous girl! Iris is a medium-sized senior Pittie with the softest soul you'll ever meet. At 7+ years old she has lived enough life to know exactly what matters: a warm lap, a peaceful home, and someone who will finally choose her! We saved her from being euthanized at a local shelter where she was shut down and heartbroken. A girl who had clearly known little kindness, possibly spent years as a breeding dog and then discarded like she didn't matter. But she does matter! She always did. This little lady is quiet and shy at first, but once she trusts you she blooms like the flower she's named after: playful, affectionate, and the kind of soul that stays with you forever. Iris is the kind of dog who will curl up beside you on the couch and make you wonder how you ever lived without her. She's calm, cuddly, and has the most endearing silly side that comes out once she feels safe and loved. Iris has done wonderfully with the cats and dogs in her foster home. Like many dogs, sudden movements can sometimes trigger her instincts, so a home that can provide mindful supervision around smaller animals or no small animals would set her up for success. With the right environment and patient guidance she truly shines! Senior Pitties like Iris are among the most overlooked dogs in rescue and among the most grateful when someone gives them a chance. She doesn't need much. Just consistency, gentleness, and a safe place to call her own. Iris is looking for: -A calm, loving home ideally without small animals or mindful supervision. -A patient adopter who appreciates a slower pace and doesn't mind a little daily eye drop routine. Iris certainly doesn't!
