About Abbie

Abbie is an extremely smart, curious, and affectionate dog. She absolutely loves a challenge-especially if treats are involved! We've bought her many puzzle feeders, and she solves them all immediately. She already knows basic commands like sit, shake, and heel, and has the potential to learn much more. She enjoys training and thrives when given structured mental stimulation. Abbie has a great balance of energy and calm. She loves walks, runs, and being active, but she's just as happy cuddling, or relaxing in a sunny spot. Abbie is house-trained and will let you know when she needs to go out. She is well-mannered indoors and used to meeting people in the home. Abbie was abused for the 1st year of her life and because of this she can be reactive to other dogs and occasionally people when she's on leash. She should wear a muzzle during walks for everyone's safety. This doesn't mean she's aggressive or difficult, she doesn't pull and is enjoyable to walk. But she does need appropriate handling and awareness when on leash because she can be reactive if she gets surprised. We're happy to explain this further and share more context in a one-on-one conversation. Abbie would do best in a home with a yard, where she doesn't need to be leashed for every outing. An owner who has time for training with mental and/or physical stimulation would be a plus but not required. She currently lives in a condo and is walked multiple times a day, so she is adaptable-but we think she would thrive with more space. Abbie comes with a lot of support. We will bring her anywhere there is a loving home, no matter how far. She comes with everything you will need, sleeping crate, travel crate, winter clothes depending on climate, etc. We are also happy to cover the cost of training to help you and Abbie transition successfully :)
