Almost 4 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB: estimated 4/30/22). His name is 'Kuso'. Background: The Current Shepherd Parent rescued Kuso about 6 months ago to save him from being euthanized. UNKNOWN IF UTD on shots WITHOUT record. NOT Fixed. Good with kids. NOT Good with dogs. Unknown with cats. House trained. NOT Crate trained (very anxious and will try to escape). Any known medical issues?: NONE KNOWN, but shows signs of possible past abuse and may have soreness in back right hip, especially in colder weather. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Suspected past abuse. Displays fear-based behaviors, especially toward strangers and men. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High. Weighs 75 lbs. Currently on unknown food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: No. *dogs?: No. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): No - DO NOT approach or offer hand to sniff. Must ignore him initially and allow him to come to you on his own terms. He may nip if approached incorrectly. Proper, patient introduction is a MUST. Once you ignore him and he sniffs you on his terms, he will go on and no longer care. Loves: Toys, playing outside, balls, steak fat, pup cups, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, playing with kids, fetch, sleeping in bed with his person, being close to his person, and bones. Important Behavior Notes: Stranger Reactive with fear-based responses. Shows more reactivity toward men. Separation Anxiety present. Vocal and 'talkative.' Once ignored during first meeting, he will approach, sniff, and settle - then becomes much more relaxed. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Fair. *Good on a Leash?: Fair. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: On the FIRST day that the Current Shepherd Parent got Kuso, he took him over to his dad's house. His dad stuck his arm out to allow him to sniff and he bit his hand. They do acknowledge that that was too much for Kuso on the first day and do not blame Kuso, but needs to be disclosed. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'He is such a great dog, even being skittish of new people. He is so vocal and smart. He loves to cuddle and to play.' Re Homing because�'�|: Was rescued to save him from euthanasia, but the Current Shepherd Parent is not able to give him the time he needs due to work schedule.
