About Smokey

PUPDATE: Smokey an awesome mix of blue heeler and Corgi! 1 to 2 years old | 24lbs | was kept with several chihuahuas cautious, keeps to herself. She LOVES her people. Like, deeply. She wants to be with you, work with you, and make you happy. She is very smart and very responsive. A simple 'uh-uh' and she checks herself and comes right back. That kind of softness and willingness to listen is something you cannot teach. Smokey is not a dog for a high-traffic home, but was raised with kids and other dogs. She just needs time. What she perfect for: A structured home; Someone who understands; A home that will have kind leadership; Dog savvy without being pushy, she needs direction. In the right home that will love her and be patient she is going to be incredible! She is said to be good with kids, I would not recommend any toddlers, older kids would be fine. Cats unknown. She is very smart, wants to please and we recommend manners classes for social interactions. Rescue can treat her heartworm, if relocated to St Pete/Tampa area. She may be great in sports down the road, but def a good running or hiking companion, once familiar with her environment. Currently in St Pete area. Next and last heartworm treatments are in mid July. Smokey will be available in August.
