About Saint

So this is a bit of a hail mary post at this point, but I am looking for options to surrender our 6.5 year old dog Saint, a tree walker coonhound mix. We have had past aggression/behavioral issues with him and a couple bite incidents, mostly recently back in October. The first bite incident we can pinpoint to a trigger/response, but the second we cannot pinpoint to a trigger and it was someone who regularly took care of him, stayed with him and walked him, etc. It is just my wife and I that live with him now and he is overall very sweet with us. We don't feel any threat or danger with him towards us in the house, yard or going on walks and we have had him since he was a puppy around 3 months old (rescue from local humane society). In general, he is also just a very anxious dog. Our plan was to try and re-home to a shelter or some type of sanctuary/home before our baby was due in June. However, we just had our baby premature on April 21st last week, which has forced us to essentially give up any surrender option in preparation for the baby coming home soon. We are based in Louisville, KY but haven't had any luck yet in finding a place nearby or even outside of the KY/IN/OH area. We have been trying to exhaust all options to find somewhere for him to go as we think we could do well in the right place with the right owner. Potentially a household or living situation with land where he is more free to live/roam, no kids and owners who maybe have dealt with past aggressive dogs or willing to work with them. We tried to look at any/all options where we do not have to have him put down. Unfortunately, due to the expedited family changes and not finding any re-home or surrender options in the past 6-7 months, we do have a behavioral euthanasia appointment setup for May 5th.
