When my family had to move, they made the tough decision to leave me behind with a kind stranger so I wouldn't end up on the streets. Not long after, I had a bit of bad luck and broke my arm-but don't worry, I've been getting great care! I was treated by a vet, spayed, and I'm healing in a safe, loving home. Now that I'm on the mend, my true personality is shining through-and it's a big one! I'm a young Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix with lots of energy, a sharp mind, and a huge heart. Keeping me calm during recovery has been quite the challenge (I'm ready to go!), which tells you exactly the kind of active, fun-loving companion I'll be once I'm fully healed. A few things to know about me: I'm incredibly smart and eager to learn-training me will be a fun and rewarding experience I bond deeply with my people (hello, 'velcro dog' life!) and love being part of the action I'll thrive in an active home that can give me daily exercise, structure, and enrichment I'd make an amazing hiking, running, or adventure buddy I'm currently around kids and doing well Because I'm still healing and get very excited, I haven't been able to interact much with other dogs yet, so it's not fully known whether I'd prefer to be your one-and-only or have canine siblings. With thoughtful introductions and guidance, I may do just fine. I do have natural herding instincts (it's in my DNA!), which means I may chase cats. A home without cats-or one with experienced owners committed to training and management-would be best. Like many herding breeds, I'm not the kind of dog who's happy sitting around all day. I'm looking for someone who understands dogs like me-someone who wants a true companion, a partner in daily life, and a dog who will be included as part of the family. Right now, I've been staying in an outdoor kennel, so my house-training status is unknown-but I'm a quick learner and thrive on routine, so I'm ready to pick it up fast.
