X URGENT- REMOTE AREA OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY NR MEXICO BORDER- OWNER DIED, MALE CHOW 'SPOOKY' LEFT BEHIND, NO ONE AROUND TO FEED HIM SOON, & SHELTER HAS ALREADY SAID HE WOULD BE EUTHANIZED- CAN ANYONE HELP HIM- TO ADOPT, FOSTER AND OR RESCUE? APPROX 5 YR YOUNG, RELATIVES CAN PAY FOR FOOD, ETC A chow savvy home or foster is needed for handsome Spooky. We were contacted by a lady after her father passed away leaving several dogs behind. The daughter is not nearby, but has been sending food to a renter who has been feeding them for now, but is moving in the very near future. Therefore, no one will be around to feed these dogs in this remote location in the coming days, and this is a very urgent situation. The daughter has already reached out to shelters in the area and was told Spooky would be euthanized upon intake due to space!! Spooky has lived in this home since a puppy and was very attached to his owner, Wes, and vice versa. He then adopted a female chow mix, but the two dogs did not get along and have been kept separate ever since. The daughter told us, 'Spooky lives in my dad's room with a little outside area to play in and is pretty much to himself; Ivy seems more like a family dog.' The person feeding the dogs and knows them said he was 'spoiled by Wes. He thinks he is human. Sleeps on Wes side of bed & likes to watch T.V. Has been in house and his yard, sense he first opened his eyes as puppy. Does not like other people or dogs. Does not like to be hugged or brushed. Good night sleeper. Does like rides in Wes green truck . Does like his plastic swimming pool. Still watching out window for his daddy to come home. Everyday. ' We were sent a recent video where Spooky appears to be defensive barking and scared, whereas Ivy more readily approaches. We have a separate post for Ivy. As both dogs will have no one around to feed them in the very near future, if you may be interested in adopting or fostering, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist with their placement. The daughter is willing to provide food and sponsor some medical for a good home.
