URGENT AT TUCSON, AZ! ID #A896852 - 'CADBURY' THE GENTLE CHOW/SHEPHERD X AT PIMA ANIMAL CARE CENTER- NEEDS LOVING HOME/LOCAL FOSTER, OR A FOSTER FOR A RESCUE IF FURTHER AWAY- Great behavior notes, good with people, kids and other dogs! The Pima shelter reached out to us for help finding a good home or local foster for dear Cadbury #A896852 who needs a home/rescue/foster. We were told his owner had to surrender him after the owner who could not afford to treat a severe ear wound he somehow sadly had. Cadbury's wounds have thankfully now been treated and 'are healing well but needs bandages still.' They also told us 'He has done well with other dogs and children. Loves people and rolls over for belly rubs. Very sweet and gentle boy.' Cadbury is believed to a be a chow shepherd mix, possibly some Carolina dog too, and is said to be 5 years old. He now weighs 75 lbs after coming in a bit thinner. Despite what Cadbury has been through, he was still so sweet upon intake on 4/5. His shelter notes state, 'In admissions, walks on leash. Easy to handle, able to vaccinate and chip. Very friendly, non dog reactive' More recent notes from 4/21 state, 'Easy to leash, rolls over for belly rubs, very friendly and people orientated. Clinic Playgroup with Asha and Zeus- Gave appropriate greetings with dogs and K2S overall, people orientated. Walks well on leash.' We also learned that that his owner described Cadbury as 'gentle' and reported he was good with young children and small dogs, and had no reported behavior issues. While he had never been around cats or larger dogs, before, he seems to be fine around them at the shelter. However, we always recommend a meet and greet if you have another pet. Cadbury lived outdoors previously, but it would be wonderful to see him also indoors and out of the Arizona heat. We are told he loved to go on walks. At the shelter, he is so happy to be taken out to the playyard and also being pet and loved. The shelter gave us several videos showing how wonderful he is. Cadbury is now waiting for his forever home or foster who will love on him and can take him for walks. He will also be neutered for a home.
