About Jimmy

This beautiful long haired cream colored male dachshund is looking for his forever home. He is so loving, but he's also shy and will hide when scared. His background. He was bought as a puppy by a family that had a small child. He was never properly trained or socialized. I bought him to be a companion to my other longhaired dachshund. They get along great. But he came to me not housebroken, never had a collar or leash, always slept in the owners bed so he wasn't crate trained. I have an outdoor cat that he doesn't bother, but he will bark at other cats. He loves to chase squirrels. I was told that he was a barker, but I do not see that in him. He isn't used to riding in vehicles. He is an escape artist as he gets out of any area that I put him in except his crate. He loves to snuggle. He needs to be neutered by his new owner. He was born December 2024. The reason I'm rehoming is this. After I got him, I got a new job to which I leave home on Friday and do not return til late Sunday night. I've been having a dog sitter come to my home 3 times a day to let them out and feed them. I can no longer do that. My daughter has no problem keeping my other one, but says that she cannot handle the two of them. He marks his territory! I cannot seem to get him stopped from marking all my rugs and furniture. I live in a new remodeled home with new floors, rugs and furniture and he is constantly marking them. I have only had him for 2 months and I'd rather find him a good forever home before he gets too attached to me. I do have his papers, but the original owner never filled them out and sent to AKC to register him.
