About BUNNY

Adoption Fee: $500
Shih Tzu
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

BUNNY is a 3-year-old, 12.3 lb Shih Tzu who was surrendered to us to find a new home. She is a goofy, affectionate little sweetheart who absolutely loves her people. She has dry eye and will need drops for the rest of her life. BUNNY is very loving and enjoys being close, whether that means following you around, curling up next to you during downtime, or happily soaking up attention. She can be extra excited when meeting new people and greets everyone with enthusiasm. She has a silly, snorty personality and will have her moments of wild, flailing zoomies that are sure to make you laugh. BUNNY is good with other dogs and has learned a lot from them, taking cues and respecting their signals well. While she loves the idea of playtime, she can be a bit rough and energetic, so a home with a tolerant, playful companion who can match her energy and help guide her is her best match. Cats and children are unknown. BUNNY is doing very well with potty training and is learning quickly, though she currently prefers going on concrete rather than grass. She is not leash trained yet but stays close to her person outside and responds well to cues like clapping or calling. A home with a fenced yard is preferred, but may not be required for the right family. BUNNY loves toys and will happily entertain herself or play throughout the day. She has plenty of energy, especially in the mornings, and enjoys bursts of activity followed by good naps. She is also known to get a little clumsy during play and zoomies, so a home that understands her quirks will be important. At night, she sleeps very well in the big bed and settles in nicely. BUNNY does have some medical needs to be aware of. Her eyesight is slightly limited due to dry eye, and she requires regular eye drops in both eyes and will for life. One eye has a non-productive tear duct which can be very painful if not treated properly. She is not a fan of the drops and it can take patience, consistency, and sometimes two people to administer. She is also currently receiving ear medication, which she tolerates slightly better but still requires effort. Her adopter must be committed to maintaining her care routine. BUNNY is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
