About Ricky

(DOB 03/05/2025) Ricky is a tender-hearted Boxer/Border Collie mix with the softest coat and the most endearing, wrinkly little face that always looks just a bit concerned-don't worry, it only adds to his charm. Beneath that 'worried' expression is an absolute sweetheart who loves deeply and bonds closely with his people. Ricky is a true lover boy. He adores affection and gives it right back, often wrapping you up in his signature doggie hugs once he feels safe and comfortable. It's his favorite way of saying 'you're my person.' He enjoys gentle, playful games like chase and hide-and-seek, and while he's curious about toys, he's still figuring out what they're all about-which just makes him that much more endearing. This sensitive guy can be a little unsure in new or noisy environments, but he takes great comfort in his people and looks to them for reassurance. With a patient, loving home, his confidence will continue to blossom. He's very food motivated and eager to please, making him a wonderful candidate for continued positive training. Ricky is dog-friendly and would truly thrive in a home with at least one other friendly, confident dog to help show him the ropes. He's crate trained and does well with house training when kept on a consistent routine. Because of his gentle, affectionate nature (and those enthusiastic hugs), Ricky would do best in a home with older kids. He's also hoping for a stay-at-home or work-from-home family who can give him the time, stability, and companionship he craves. If you're looking for a soft, soulful companion who will love you with his whole heart (and maybe wrap you in a hug or two), Ricky is ready to be your shadow and your snuggle buddy for life. As part of Ricky's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
