About Gibson

Gibson is a 4.5-year-old French Bulldog in need of a responsible, stable home. Important: Gibson is strictly an indoor dog. He is not suited for outdoor living and needs to be kept inside as part of the household. Medical: Gibson has masticatory muscle myositis (MMM), which was confirmed via biopsy when he was a puppy. He has been stable and in remission for over 3 years. He does require daily medication (oral Mycophenolate given twice a day) to maintain that stability. He currently has no issues with eating or jaw function. Behavior: Gibson is great with people, including adults and children. He is very submissive with humans. With other dogs he has resource guarding behaviors (food, toys, attention). When triggered, he can escalate quickly into growling and lunging and must be physically restrained. Because of this he needs to be the only dog in the home. Gibson also has severe separation anxiety that manifests as crying at the door when he is alone. He has shown no destructive behaviors.
