URGENT!!! Meet a loyal companion with a heart of gold! Cruz is a 6-year-old neutered male Rottweiler is the perfect blend of well-trained, affectionate, and devoted. He already comes with an impressive list of commands-he knows sit, stay, come/here, down, heel, leave it, drop it, focus, off/get, and wait/stop. He's incredibly food motivated, which makes continuing his training both easy and rewarding. What truly sets him apart is his deep love for his people. He is a total cuddle bug who absolutely adores snuggling and will happily roll over for belly rubs any chance he gets. His loyalty runs deep-he wants nothing more than to be close to his person and be part of the family. He does have some food possession tendencies, so he would do best being fed separately to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. While he has previously lived with another male dog and coexisted successfully, he prefers a more laid-back environment and isn't interested in socializing with other dogs-especially those with higher energy. He's more of a 'do his own thing' kind of guy and would rather skip the meet-and-greet scene. He is fine with dogs coming up to him but not staying around him or him staying around them! ESPECIALLY if they are barking! He gets overstimulated in those situations and will act out! **HE IS NOT DOING WELL IN THE SHELTER FOR THIS REASON** He has shown he can coexist with cats, though a slow and proper introduction will be important. He's not particularly interested in toys, but he makes up for it with his affectionate nature and love of treats. Because he can be uncomfortable with certain types of handling-like someone standing over him or reaching around his neck-he would do best in a home with older children who can understand and respect his boundaries.
