About Anubis

Anubis is a rescue that I adopted a year and a half ago. His background was unknown and was a stray. I was only told that he was new and still nervous about being in the shelter. In the beginning, I worked on his training and tried to work on his behavior in home, around people, and outside. Anubis is a loyal dog who loves to play. Will follow you around the house or sit with you. Squeaky toys are his favorite! . Hes very food motivated, curious, and loves almost anything he tries and bones! He does not really bark or howl (unless he hears sirens). He can be active and run around and zoomie or he can enjoy lounging around. He smart and knows most basic commands like sit, stay, down, high5, come etc and with treats he can learn more. For his behavior - He has shown to be nervous/growl at new people (while in the house). He continues to do so towards guests that he has met before, I have tried to work on this but there has been little to no improvement. outside he is uncomfortable when people walk behind him. He is more aware of his surroundings and will look around or behind him.. So his behavior and temperament inside and outside the house varies. He still will get nervous/fearful/submissive and begin to urinate. Lastly his temperament towards cats and children is unknown and with his behavior towards people its not recommended. He has not interacted with cats or children before. When I have seen him interact with other dogs he has been playful (little rough) with no issues, but at daycare I was told he would start fights, test boundaries, or resource guard. So i am unable to give a definite answer of how well he interacts with other dogs. I have tried many different things, put in a lot of time, patience and energy to work with him, ive tried trainers/classes and different training methods with some improvement but I am unable to continue to provide the energy and time to work that he needs now due to my own health.
