About Charlie

Charlie is an intact male miniature poodle. He is around 12 lbs. He is 4 yrs old. He is up to date on his vaccines and currently on a monthly dose of Symparicatrio for parasite prevention. When we got Charlie last fall he was in pretty rough shape; but with lots of vet care, training on how to be a good citizen, and TLC, he has come a long ways. Charlie likes to snuggle and be scratched. He loves to play fetch with his ball. He does great with other dogs. He does great with cats. He is afraid of most men/ boys. He is also afraid hands coming towards him. He does not like to be left totally alone. When we are gone, he stays in his own crate right next to our other dog in her crate. He also sleeps in his crate at night. He is house/ potty trained, but did tend to want to mark his territory when our female was in heat- which is understandable. He does really well with an assertive leader in charge; he does not want to be in charge and feels relieved of that duty when we are the pack leader. It is best if he is let outside into a fenced area, or on a leash. He likes taking walks and does pretty well with it. He understands a few commands- kennel, sit, lay down, etc. He is very treat motivated. Sometimes he is protective of his crate when our toddler tries to get in there with him and he growls. ��%90��%8FI would NOT recommend him to a home with small children.��%90��%8F We have put much money and time into him to get him shaped up, and would now like to pass him on to a home with less males and children coming and going than ours!
