Sweet Nic's mom, (my mother in law) has dementia and can't take care of him anymore as she will transition to an assisted living. Nic is registered Collie with the American Kennel Club, and was trained as a competition herding dog, winning very many ribbons. Nick used to be very energetic, but now he is happy just laying around and chasing his balls from time to time (he hoards balls under the couch, haha). He likes to follow his people, he is very sweet and gentle with adults and kids, but his herding instinct compelles him to try to correct 'bad' behavior on other dogs. He was a very loved and well taken care doggy with lots of room to roam, which we can't offer. He loves being outside roaming, but he is ok indoors too. As he used to be outside most of the time, he has some issues peeing at home if he hasn't been taken out in some time. We solved it by placing a pee pad, which he uses.
