About Petronella

I need a home that will love me!!! Am at risk of being euthanized, tragically, when the shelter gets over-capacity, which it often does, since am considered a longer-term doggie here. Arrived at the shelter on March 9th as a chipped stray. I don't know why my human never came looking for me, since am a very good girl. I am 9 years old. Yes, that is very mature, but maturity is good, mellows us out, makes us sweeter, more loving. I am all those things. I am even pretty peppy. Am good on leash, love to snuggle. Met a doggie here on leash and did very well. The doggie was quite a bit smaller than me, but I was very nice to him, since am not the pushy type. Please come meet me. Maybe take me home? Come. Human speaking here now, please, please, if have the ability to adopt, even foster Petronella (different process-which I can explain), any of the dogs listed at the shelter on here, many more that aren't listed, come out to Chicago Animal Care and Control, contact this page. These dogs aren't 'just' at risk of being euthanized, very real risk, tragic on its own, but spend most of their time in their kennels, only get out twice a week for 20 minutes, which is a tragedy upon a tragedy, to be locked up almost 24/7. Sadly, but the reality is due to Petronella's age, she has a much lower chance of being adopted, which increases her risk of being euthanized. It is understandable being concerned adopting a 9-year-old doggie, so if not able to adopt, please, please consider fostering through a rescue organization (I can help with the process, just email/contact). With fostering, the rescue org. pays for everything (vet visits, food, whatever is needed). The foster parent provides a home, provides the love, prepares Petronella for adoption, take to vet visit as needed, ... . Any dog that is adopted, will be spayed/neutered by the shelter at no charge, same with microchipping, core vaccines. If fostered, same will be done, but through the rescue organization.
