About Beowulf

Help me, please. Am a good doggie. Am at risk of being euthanized, tragically, when the shelter gets over-capacity, which it often does, since am considered a longer-term dog at the shelter (arrived March 6th). If it comes to pass, I will then be dumped into a black, garbage bag..., with some others, as if I didn't matter. Please show me I matter, give me a chance. The volunteers at the shelter have great things to say about me. They say I am epic, smart, gentle, walk like a dream on leash, and that I am a very special boy! When they kneel down to leash me, I immediately sit, since I am well trained. I love to play fetch, even drop the doggie toy, right at their feet and like to cuddle. Love my doggie toys, so good at entertaining myself. I've met doggies on leash, even a boy doggie, and did pretty good. The volunteers think I have pretty eyes. Please come meet me, see those eyes in person. Maybe take me home? We can play fetch. Come. Human speaking here now, please, please, if have the ability to adopt, even foster Beowulf (different process-which I can explain), any of the dogs listed at the shelter on here, many more that aren't listed, come out to Chicago Animal Care and Control, contact this page. These dogs aren't 'just' at risk of being euthanized, very real risk, tragic on its own, but spend most of their time in their kennels, only get out twice a week for 20 minutes, which is a tragedy upon a tragedy, to be locked up almost 24/7. It shows what great dogs they are, that they are able to still continue to be great, even though caged up so much of the time. Any dog that is adopted, will be spayed/neutered by the shelter at no charge, same with microchipping, core vaccines.
