Bandit is a stunning 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix who is looking for his forever person. If you are familiar with the Cur breed, you know they are defined by their incredible loyalty, intelligence, and deep bond with their owners-and Bandit is no exception. He is the ultimate 'velcro dog' who just wants to be where you are, whether that's relaxing on the couch or being your right-hand man around the house. His Personality: �'ۢ Human-Focused: Bandit loves people. He is affectionate, gentle with adults, and deeply devoted to his family. �'ۢ Smart & Trained: He is house-trained and has a great 'off-switch' once he's settled inside. �'ۢ Classic working-dog drive: He is alert and observant, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a dog that truly pays attention to their owner. We are heartbrokenly seeking a new home for Bandit due to a safety conflict with the other resident dog in our home. Recently, Bandit has developed escalating inter-dog aggression. We strongly believe this behavior is pain-induced, as he was recently diagnosed with a CCL (knee) injury. He is currently on a pain management protocol (Gabapentin and Trazodone) and is defensive because he feels physically vulnerable. The Ideal Match: Bandit's perfect home is one where he can be the only pet. He has a high-drive, protective personality and is currently struggling to share his space with other animals. He deserves a home where he doesn't have to compete for attention and can feel completely secure in his own environment. He would thrive with a patient owner who understands high-drive breeds and has a fenced yard where he can spend quality one-on-one time with his favorite person. Why he is being rehomed: Due to a major career transition and a demanding new work schedule, I can no longer provide the 'only-dog' environment Bandit needs to be successful. It is a heartbreaking decision, but I want him to be in a home where he can be the center of someone's world, which is exactly where a dog like Bandit shines brightest.
