��%90%BE A Special Plea for Shadow ��%90%BE Shadow is a loving, goofy boy who has been waiting far too long for his chance at a home. After 2 years in the shelter, this 3-year-old Catahoula/Pit mix is still full of love and hope-and ready to find his forever person or a foster home to give him a break from shelter life. Despite being found abandoned on Footbridge Trail off Highway 6, Shadow hasn't lost his trust in people. He hasn't met a stranger he doesn't want to befriend-he's confident, affectionate, and full of personality. Shadow already knows sit, shake, and down, and if you're lucky, he'll even roll over. He's extremely treat-motivated, eager to learn, and walks well on a leash. Staff and volunteers have been working with him using clicker training, and he continues to make great progress. He did well with house manners during a short foster stay, but like many shelter dogs, Shadow can become overstimulated with too much activity and change. He would thrive in a calm home with a consistent routine, limited unexpected visitors, and an adopter committed to continuing his training. Shadow can show dog reactivity, so he will need to be the only dog in the home. With proper structure and continued training, he can still enjoy an active lifestyle-he'd love to be your hiking buddy, especially with someone who can advocate for his space and help redirect him around other dogs.
