EMERGENCY! CODE RED AT VISALIA, CA (CENTRAL CALIFORNIA) 4/17 at NOON deadline to commit, on EUTH LIST!!!! ID #1777804 'GRACE'- A BEAUTIFUL, YOUNG CHOW GIRL FOUND ROAMING AREA FOR DAYS, CHASED WITH CATCH POLE WHICH TORE HER MOUTH! SHE IS UNDERSTANDABLY SCARED. FINDERS SAID SHE WOULD FOLLOW PEOPLE BEFORE ALL OF THIS. SHE CAME OFF HER STRAY HOLD 4/16 AND WAS IMMEDIATELY PUT ON THE EUTH LIST for TOMORROW! WE NEED FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP- RESCUES CANNOT HELP WITHOUT A FOSTER AND PLACE FOR A DOG TO GO! SHY/SCARED YOUNG GIRL AT SHELTER SO MADE RESCUE ONLY! WE ARE TOLD SHE WILL BE EUTHANIZED FRIDAY without a commitment. SHELTER MAY GIVE SLIGHT EXTENSION WITH RESCUE COMMITMENT. Being Rescue only, she cannot be adopted through the shelter, you must go through a rescue group so please email and DM us asap with interest, or to foster We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster, or at least a foster familiar with chows or similar Asian or spitz breeds. This poor girl was found roaming the areas for days and would follow people around. Animal Control was called out who chased her first with a net, and then used a catch pole on her which cut up her mouth which was bleeding badly. As far as we know, she has received no medical care. No wonder why she sits at the back of her kennel and does not want anyone to touch her, but has at times approached the kennel fence with no aggression. The shelter estimates she is 1-2 years old. Despite having open kennels, they sadly are rushing to euthanize her due to fear. The shelter states it is city policy (approved by city council) to give only 7 days since intake for those who need rescue. We have a few videos included in this post! Therefore, if you may be interested in fostering, fostering to adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for her rescue), please email [email protected] asap at Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap. Some transport is available to rescue groups as the finder offered to help. Rescue groups should contact the shelter directly by both emailing [email protected] and calling 559) 713-4700 X1, and providing her ID.
