Jackie is a 5-year-old, 6.5-pound white and cream Pomeranian with a soft, delicate nature and a heart that's still learning how to feel safe. She is very shy right now and will need a patient, understanding home that's willing to give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. She has already started making small but meaningful progress in foster care. Jackie now comes inside on her own and is beginning to build trust, but she is still nervous with handling. She may try to snip if picked up too quickly, so she does best when approached gently and given time to feel comfortable. Right now, she will allow gentle pets on her head once she settles, and each day she is learning a little more. Jackie is very attached to other dogs and relies heavily on them for comfort. She would do best in a home with a confident, friendly dog to help guide her, as she forms strong bonds and can become anxious when her dog companion leaves the room. She uses puppy pads and is still adjusting to a routine indoors. She currently prefers wet food and enjoys treats like peanut butter-filled bones. As she continues to feel more secure, her confidence will grow, but she will need an adopter who understands that trust will take time and consistency. Jackie has luxating patellas in both knees, Grade 4 on the left and Grade 3 on the right. She is currently getting around, but this will need to be monitored and managed with a veterinarian. Jackie is fully vetted, including a full exam, spay, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing. She is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Jackie is located in College Station, TX, and her adoption fee is $650. Apply to adopt at www.tpsrescue.com
