Meet Kenzie !! This absolutely beautiful girl is so well behaved and such a wonderful companion. She was adopted from us when she was 5 months old but sadly the home just wasn't a good fit for her. She is back now looking for an awesome new family. Kenzie just turned 1 year old in February. She weighs 52 Pounds and is close to full grown. She is already spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. (She has had a Pro-heart shot and Bravecto Quantum so she will be covered from both fleas and heartworms until January 2027.) We were not sure her breed when she was with us before but her previous family got a DNA test done for her. Despite her looks she is predominantly Lab with no shepherd or golden mixed in at all. She is definitely a multi-mix after the Lab. Kenzie is very very good about her training. Her previous family did some training classes with her and really put in the work to teach her all of her manners. She is a very sweet dog. She loves to be with you and also has a very playful side. She is gentle for her size and easy and cooperative to have in the home. She is doing really well with her house manners. She learns very quickly and seems to be very smart. She is great on car rides. She is doing well with leash training and loves walks but still pulls at times. Her foster has seen lots of improvement with consistent training. She is crate trained but isn't always a fan of going in on her own. She has been perfect so far with her potty training. Kenzie is amazing with kids. She has a very loving and sweet personality. She had small young kids in her first home so she understands how to behave around little ones. She is also very good with cats. The reason she was returned is due to her not getting along with the other dog in the home. She is fine with meeting new dogs and playing with them but she gets jealous or protective toward other dogs living in the home with her long term. She seemed to be trying to protect her mom from the other dog which caused fighting between the two dogs. She may do okay with a submissive male dog but we cant test it out due to her not showing this issue until she has been in a home for awhile and established herself. In her foster home she was fine with all other dogs. She will not go to a home that has both another dog AND kids. If the dogs fight the kids could get hurt. She already lost her first home to prevent a child being caught between two fighting dogs. She is wonderful with kids and cats but we don't want her to lose another home over the same dog issues. If you have no kids and a submissive male dog we may be willing to try that as well. So far she has a medium energy level. She currently has bursts of energy and absolutely loves to play. After that she follows you around the house. Always watching to see what you are doing. She is very clingy and will gently paw you to get you to continue the petting when you stop. She can be briefly shy when meeting new people but then she is all about her new friends. Kenzie has not had any issues sharing food, treats, or toys with people. She does not share food well with other dogs. She has not shown any issues sharing with humans at all. She is incredibly smart and learning so fast. She seems to be a people pleaser and really wants to make you happy. She loves going to training or on any outings with you. She is a great dog to take out to breweries and parks. She has not had issues with dogs in those settings. Overall she is a really well rounded and wonderful dog. She has a great personality and is very loving. She would make a great new addition to a family wanting only one dog and all of her training is basically done for you already. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA.
